Something, but make it relate to puppies

In this assignment, we were tasked with creating a chat bot or verbal interaction interface based on anything and everything related to puppies. Prompted by the frequency in which both myself or my roommates utter the phrase "Ugh, I want a puppy!" I created the Bark: Puppy Protocol.

The Bark Puppy Protocol is a chatbot interface that humors your puppy desires while reminding you that you are simply not prepared to be a dog parent. It can be used as a browser extension or an Alexa skill and sends up to three emails containing adoptable puppies from your local animal shelter to the user as they request them.

This design was guided by a 20 person light-hearted survey focused on a demographic close to me: Northwestern collegiate athletes. While this narrowed user group could prove problematic in bringing a product to larger scale, for the scope of this design, the similarity of the group helped guide decisions for a quick one-week design timeline.

After learning the shared sentiment of wanting a puppy without the time, financial, or housing resources to have one, the Bark Puppy Protocol allows a user to browse up to three puppies while making sarcastic comments that remind the user that they are not ready to make those puppy pictures come to life.

The chatbot sequence is as follows, allowing multiple routes depending on a "yes" or "no" intention from the user:

The resulting interaction, when played out through one example, flows as follows (with each email that is sent including an image and link to a puppy from a local animal shelter):
